Although many of the ideas met in Pure Mathematics are interesting in their own right, they also serve as a vital foundation for the other branches of mathematics that we study. The course will include elements of Applied Maths from Mechanics and Statistics which will give you a good grounding in two very different areas of mathematics. These applied elements will help you in your pursuits of a wide range of mathematical degrees and future careers. The A level in Maths is a two-year linear course which is assessed by means of 3x2 hour papers at the end of two years.
