Course summary

This course provides an attractive alternative to the traditional A Level for students who prefer to have more practical element in engineering. The fundamental philosophy of this course is that, students actively experience the engineering environment including electrical and electronics engineering. The  BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Engineering is a single award and equivalent to 1 A-Level. The  course is run over two years alongside 2 other subjects

Entry requirements

Academy Entry Requirements: A minimum of five GCSE grades 9 – 4. Students must also attain a grade 5 in GCSE Maths

How you'll be assessed

BTEC L3 National Extended Certificate consists of 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are external. The units are including: Engineering Principles (External exam) Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team (Mandatory – internally assessed) Engineering Product Design and Manufacture (Externally assessed) Electronic Devices and Circuits (Optional – internally assessed)
