
Students will study core Human and Physical Geography. In each area of study, students will consider the values and attitudes of decision makers, consider their own values and attitudes to the issues being studied and support their learning of ideas through the study of specific case studies. Students are also required to undertake preparatory, investigative work in the field in order to be able to produce a fieldwork investigation.
Academy Entry Requirements: A minimum of five GCSE grades 9 – 4. GCSE Geography at Grade 5 or above
Students will sit all units at the end of the course. Component 1: Physical Geography Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes (40% of A Level) Component 2: Human Geography Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes (40% of A Level) Component 3: Geographical Investigation Students complete an individual investigation which must include data collected in the field. (20% of A Level)
