Course summary
Why should I study it? This qualification emphasises practical creativity alongside theoretical understanding and in-depth exploration of literature. Students learn through experience, seeing theatre and making theatre for themselves. Students are introduced to a wide range of theoretical styles and contexts as they explore plays practically and write/direct their own pieces. The course inspires students to become independent theatre makers encourages development and refinement of analytical/evaluative thinking, collaborative skills and their approach to research. They will have the opportunity to work as individuals and as part of an ensemble. In addition to acting, students can also develop theatre design skills such as costume, sound, lighting and set design.
