Course summary
If you are interested in the world around you and your place within it, enjoy picture taking and would like to learn how to take better photographs that translate into creative and meaningful imagery then you would be very suited to the Photography course. Studying Photography will give you a greater understanding of the world we live in, and your place within it. You will be encouraged to explore subject themes with a personal interest to ensure that you are always on a meaningful creative journey. Component 1: Personal Investigation Learners should produce two elements: (i) an in-depth critical, practical and theoretical investigation project/portfolio and outcome/s based on themes and subject matter that have personal significance. (ii) an extended written response of 1000 words minimum, this may contain images and texts must clearly relate to practical and theoretical work. Component 02: Externally set task: • The externally set assignment materials are released from 1 February (in the second year of the course) and will provide learners with a series of visual and written stimuli. • A response should be based on one of these options.
