Are you keen and have the interest in pursuing a career in Software Development, Programming, Website Development, Social Media, Games Design or Cyber Security, or you have a passion for IT and computing, then why not make the first step and join us on the Foundation Diploma in Information Technology. This exciting and innovative course will help you to develop a range of modern computing and IT skills you need, from developing systems to manage information in business, creating innovative websites, programs and mobile apps, to producing your very own computer games. This course enables you to develop the skills and experience needed to start the career of your dreams. The Foundation Diploma forms part of our Esports Pathway and is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. 6 units of which 4 are mandatory and 2 are external . • Unit 1 - Information Technology Systems • Unit 2 - Creating Systems to Manage Information • Unit 3 - Using Social Media in Business • Unit 4 - Programming • Unit 6 - Website Development One additional unit will be selected from the following: • Computer Games Development • Mobile Apps Development • Data Modelling The BTEC Nationals attract UCAS points.

Entry requirements

A grade 4 or above in English or Maths is required, although in exceptional cases students who have not achieved a grade 4 will still be considered during interview to ascertain your commitment to this course. It would also be beneficial to have studied L2 IT or Computing previously but again if this is not the case, applications will be still be considered.
