Course summary

If you are interested in pursuing a career that involves working with other people, whether this is within a Hospital and Healthcare setting, then this is the course for you! It covers a wide range of areas including dementia awareness, mental health and well-being, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and healthcare procedures. The content is also aligned with the knowledge and skills required for the Adult Care Worker and Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship standards. Mandatory units are: 1. Communication in care settings 2. Handle information in care settings 3. Personal development in care settings 4. Implement personal-centred approaches in care settings 5. Equality & inclusion in care settings 6. Health, safety and well-being in care settings 7. Responsibilities of a care worker 8. Durty of care 9. A grade 2 or above in English and Maths

How you'll be assessed

You must achieve a total of 46 credits with 24 credits from mandatory units and a minimum of 22 credits from the optional units. All units are internally assessed by the teacher using a portfolio. Mandatory Units (83%) External Units (58%)
