Course summary

Enterprise and Entrepreneurship will help you to develop the skills and experience you need to start and run your own business. This programme can be studied alongside two A-levels (Extended Certificate), or one A-Level (Diploma) or alongside the BTEC Extended Certificate or Diploma in Health and Social Care. The Diploma in Enterprise is for learners who have a keen interest in running their own business in the future or in working in the business sector. The course is assessed through a combination of internal assignments and external exams. These activities are enjoyable, interactive and suitable for all learning styles. This course is similar to the BTEC Business qualification, but the emphasis of BTEC Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is on the skills and experience needed to run your own business and become an entrepreneur. Where will it lead? A BTEC in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship will enable you to progress on to higher education, an apprenticeship or to start your own enterprise. This qualification will enable learners to develop transferable knowledge and skills which would be useful in any profession. For example, leadership, problem solving and teamwork. By studying Enterprise it is also useful preparation for careers in Marketing, PR, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources and Project Management. The BTEC level 3 qualification is equivalent to A-level standard and will fulfil UCAS entry requirements to study for Business-related or other degrees at university. How you'll be assessed

BTEC National Diploma—two-year linear course. Board: EDEXCEL. The BTEC Diploma is a level 3 qualification equivalent to two A-Levels (8 units). Unit 1 - Enterprise and Entrepreneurs Unit 2 - Creating a Marketing Campaign (External Exam) Unit 3 - Personal and Business Finance (External Exam) Unit 4 - Launch and Run an Enterprise Unit 5 - Survival and Growth Unit 5 - Business Decision Making (External Exam) Unit 7 - Social Enterprise Unit 8 - Enterprise and Intrapreneurship in Practice Qualification is graded as a P (Pass), M (Merit) or D (Distinction).
