Further Mathematics is designed for students with an enthusiasm for Mathematics. It is both deeper and broader than A level Mathematics. As well as building on algebra and calculus introduced in A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics introduces complex numbers and matrices, fundamental mathematical ideas with wide applications in Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Sciences and Computing. Understanding of Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Maths is further extended. Further Mathematics is highly recommended for students who enjoy doing mathematics, are good at algebra, love to explore some of the mathematical themes introduced at GCSE and are hoping to study courses such as Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Finance, Economics or any other course with high mathematical content.
