
Health and Social Care is a vocational BTEC course based on the person-centred approach and values needed to work in the health and social care sector, this course is equivalent to two A levels. The exam units are in; working in health and social care, human development and research methods. Students will develop key skills in presentation, discussion, essay writing, research projects. The course requires students to have a good command of English. The course is varied and can lead on to various health related careers which are explored through our links with local services and higher education institutions. Students will be assisted to develop their organisational skills in order to meet deadlines and manage workload. Students should have an interest in health news and stay up to date with developments in this field. This course will particularly appeal to those interested in a career in healthcare and social work.
As part of Route A: Merit at Level 2 HSC or a 5 in GCSE English As part of Route B: 5 GCSEs at 4 or above, including GCSE English
