Whilst maintaining a balance between Human and Physical Geography, A-Level Geography allows us to look at the subject in a much broader context, with a greater focus on current affairs and making sense of the world around us. The wide range of topics that are studied provides a foundation for further study, not only in Geography but in a wide range of other subjects. The knowledge and skills developed by A-level Geography students are also prized by employers, giving this qualification high value in the job market. A-Level Geography provides an opportunity to learn about, and discuss, the ideas of resource management, natural hazards, geopolitics, changing landscapes, international development, climate change and many more global issues. The geography department has also been awarded the Secondary Geography Quality Mark by the Geographical Association for recognition of excellence in teaching and learning. This award highlights the focus of the department in delivering the best possible A-Level course to our students in an ever changing and uncertain world. In short, the world needs more Geographers.
