ART
Course summary
The subject of Art Craft and Design provides opportunities for students to become visually and aesthetically literate. Students will embark on a broad-based course exploring practical, critical and contextual work through a range of 2D and or 3D processes and media. The course encourages students to work independently and create their visual ideas. You will be able to choose a specialist area of study that suits your individual interest and abilities. As a part of the course, examinations are followed by the annual Art, Photography and Technology Exhibition that the students organise for parents and the public to view their work. Visits to art galleries and museums are an integral part of the course. The students regularly visit galleries in London, enhancing their knowledge of the art-world helping them to develop their own creativity and style and in preparation for Personal Investigation and Externally Set Assignment. There are also links with Kingston University’s School of Art for portfolio development to assist students interested in Foundation and Bachelor courses and careers in the Arts.
