A Level Mathematics (DVHS)
Course summary
You will study both pure and applied mathematics. The pure mathematics you cover will include proof, algebra and functions, coordinate geometry, sequences and series, trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms, calculus, numerical methods, vectors. You will also explore the ways in which mathematics can be extended to the real world through the study of both statistics and mechanics. In statistics, you will learn about statistical sampling, data presentation and interpretation, probability, statistical distributions and statistical hypothesis testing. In mechanics you will begin modelling every day experiences by studying kinematics, forces, Newton’s laws of motion and moments.
