Course summary
Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences, exploring a range of two and some three dimensional media, processes and techniques. Students’ work will develop with both practical and critical/contextual approaches, exploring a combination of the following areas of study: Portraiture; Landscape; Still life; Human form; Abstraction; Experimental imagery; Narrative; Installation; Working in a genre. What next? Art and Design is particularly valuable in careers in product design, architecture, theatre/film set design, film making, textiles and fashion, illustration, graphic design, interior design, journalism, marketing, advertising, photography, web design, gallery curator/management and many more. In a fast-paced and visually stimulating world, employers are always keen to employ people with a creative outlook and skills. This A Level is a well-respected and rigorously assessed course, valued highly by universities (including those in the Russell Group).
