Course summary
Classical Civilisation is a vibrant and interesting subject; the history of the classical world is so relevant today and the stories and people have inspired and continue to inspire amazing works of art and literature. These are the cultures that have influenced our modern Western world and this makes their differences only more fascinating. You will study a wide range of literature spanning many hundreds of years and examine the material culture - the art and architecture - giving you the opportunity to build an informed picture of the classical world from the earliest Greeks to the formation of the powerhouse that was the Roman Empire.
