Physics
Haslingden High School and Sixth Form
Course summary
Physics is a subject that enables students to develop an understanding of the world in which they live; from the vast cosmos and the origins of the universe to the smallest theoretical particle discovered in the LHC particle accelerator. This is achieved through the further study of physics theory, building on GCSE, the application of mathematics to problem-solving and the use of practical and investigative skills to support theory. As a demanding subject, physics requires determination, hard work and a natural interest in how the world works.
