
This BTEC Level 3 qualification is taken over 2 years and is equivalent to 1 A-Level. This course provides students with a greater insight into how science is applied beyond the classroom setting and encourages deeper investigations within these sectors.
GCSE Combined Science 6-6 or GCSE Triple Science Grade 5 (all subjects) Strongly advised - GCSE Maths Grade 5 or above. Students without this grade should take AS Core Maths.
Unit Assessment Style 1: A set of 3 x 40 minute assessments focussing on Biology, Chemistry and Physics in one exam sitting. The papers will include multiple choice, calculator, short and open response questions. 2: This unit will be assessed with 4 written assessments based on the core ideas taught within the topic. 3: A 90 minute assessment that will look at the students ability to plan, record, process and analyse data to provide scientific evaluations and conclusions. 4: This unit will be assessed with 3/4 written assignments following the different topics within the unit.
