A Level Mathematics is a highly respected qualification as the subject establishes thorough and substantial preparation in mathematical processes and procedures. This course aims to enhance reasoning and problem solving techniques which are largely sought after transferable skills. The study of Mathematics at this level provides challenge and is very demanding but it has the potential to be extremely rewarding.
GCSE Grade 7 in Maths
This course will cover : Pure content which builds upon GCSE knowledge of Algebra, Proof and Geometry. Applied content comprised of mechanics and statistics which provides a snapshot of what mathematics looks like in the real-world. There are three 2 hour examination papers at the end of Year 2. Mathematics is assessed over 3 papers. Papers 1 and 2 Pure Mathematics including topics such as proof, algebra, geometry and trigonometry Paper 3 Statistics (50%) and Mechanics (50%) including topics such as probability and kinematics.
