The programme is open to 16 – 18 year old students. Each have personalised timetables, enabling the balance of lessons together with an in-depth football development programme. The Football Academy is run in conjunction with ATLP One Trust. The two-year enrichment provides students with the opportunity to study A levels and other vocational qualifications or there is an option to study the BTEC Extended National Diploma in Sport which equates to 3 A Levels. Students receive expert coaching and guidance from our coaches throughout the programme working with FA license coaches where football training mirrors that of professional football academies.. The Football Academy compete in The British College League (AoC), plus are additional friendlies and tournaments played throughout the season against Professional Clubs. The Football Academy is entered into the English Schools FA Cup (ESFA), Birmingham and Solihull Cup competitions. Home fixtures and regular training will be held at Packmeadow, The Coleshill School or West Coventry Academy our training ground is at The Coleshill School. Students will have direct access to the fitness facilities at The Coleshill leisure centre as part of their training programme. Students will also have access to regular strength and conditioning sessions in addition to personal technical skill based aims. Students will have opportunities to obtain additional nationally recognised qualifications throughout the duration of the course: FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification (with the view to gain a further FA Level 2 Qualification dependant on proficiency at a coaching level) Refereeing Course Level 1 First Aid Qualification Experience leading a range of sports activities and festivals for Primary Schools and across our trust
