Course summary

This course will cover A rigorous introduction to, and exploration of, abstract mathematical concepts which will not have been previously encountered in compulsory education. You will discover imaginary numbers from the complex set in the number system and the motion of objects in space. There are four 90 minute examination papers at the end of Year 2. This course is ideally suited to students who are enthusiastic and passionate about Mathematics. Further Mathematics focuses on developing Mathematical knowledge to a greater depth, and expands upon the A-Level Mathematics content.

48 + points GCSE Grade 8 and studying A-Level Mathematics

How you'll be assessed

Further Mathematics Assessment  has a 50/50 split between compulsory and optional papers. A-Level has 4 papers: 2 compulsory Further Pure Mathematics and 2 optional Applied Papers.
