Media Studies

Course summary

The media continues to shape and influence our lives on a daily basis. To truly understand the information we receive and interact with every day is vital in modern society. Students of Media Studies will learn to create and deconstruct texts, to appreciate where they come from and who they are produced for. Knowing who owns our media, why certain representations are given to us, and what each production is trying to tell consumers is an essential part of understanding the world we live in today. Media Studies rewards creative, imaginative thinkers, whilst preparing young people for the growing job opportunities they may encounter in later life.
