Course summary

Sociology is the study of society. In Sociology we will ask you questions you may never have thought of asking, and ask you to seek out answers to questions you may have thought were unanswerable: Does a family have to have two parents (of the opposite sex) to bring up children properly? Why, when girls continue to outperform boys in education, do men get paid more? Religious fundamentalism is on the rise – why? Prisons do not work – so what next?
