Our Business course focuses on many aspects concerning how to run a business successfully. These can be grouped roughly into the following sections: marketing, human resources (recruitment and motivation of workers), accounting and finance: operations management (production methods, stock control etc.), and impact of external influences (social, technological, economic, environmental, political, and legal). Some parts of the course involve the use of numbers. Students do not need to be mathematicians, but they would be expected to have gained a grade 4 or better in GCSE Mathematics.
This A Level course is assessed through three two-hour examinations, each completed at the end of Year 13. Each paper is worth one-third of the A Level grade. Papers one and two include both data response questions and essay questions. Paper three is synoptic and questions are based on two case studies.
