
There are 7 different topic areas within the course which span from anatomy, sports psychology to the development of technology. The topic areas are: Anatomy and physiology Skill acquisition Sport and society Exercise physiology Biomechanical movement Sport psychology Sport and society and the role of technology in physical activity and sport.
You should achieve a minimum of GCSE Science grade 5 with a grade 4 in 4 other subjects. In addition it is essential that you play competitive sport for school, club or a higher representative level for the duration of the course. Video evidence is required for coursework.
Two written papers – 2 hours per exam worth 105 marks each. 70% Internal assessment with external moderation as a practical performer or coach in a full sided game which must be videoed combined with a written analysis of performance. 90 marks and worth 30% of A Level
