Course Description Have you ever watched 'The Apprentice' and thought that might be for me? The BTEC Business Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects, or into employment in any business. It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. This Level 3 business course will enable you to gain a strong grounding in general business management, studying subjects including personal finance, retail and marketing and pitching a business. Throughout the course you will undertake practical assessments and develop a wealth of transferable, high level skills that both higher education institutions and employers are looking for. You will study the following topics: * Exploring Business * Personal and Business Finance * Marketing * Pitching a New Business * The Retail Sector The course gives you highly transferable skills and provides excellent preparation for progression to career opportunities in finance, human resources, marketing and management, or for entry to higher education.
You will be assessed continually through practical project work, coursework, written assignments, time constrained assignments and through giving presentations.
