How will COVID affect the business landscape over the next few years? What challenges is Brexit bringing to UK businesses? Why do businesses choose to advertise through the medium of television rather than any other method? How does Innocent’s ethical stance help their profits? Why do charities choose to pay their CEOs big bucks rather than using it for charitable purposes? Business A Level covers all aspects of business from start-up enterprises to the purpose of different functions within an organisation and the impact of the external environment on business decisions. You will apply your knowledge to real businesses and see how the theory learnt in the classroom applies in the real world. You’ll learn how to critically analyse and evaluate business behaviour and question the motives behind business decisions. In studying Business you will have a chance to explore a variety of different businesses and find out why they were set up, investigate different aspects of how businesses operate and look at the decision making process. Students will learn through a wide range of teaching strategies such as group work, research, case studies and discussions. Students develop fantastic transferable skills which are highly valued by employers and university admissions. Future careers include working in almost any field of business, either directly entering into the world of work or through higher level apprenticeships in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Retail Management and Accountancy. Previous students have gone on to study degrees in areas such as Enterprise and Business, Business Management, Accounting and Finance and Business Analytics.
