Course Description Creative Media Practice is a vocational media and filmmaking course. The entire course is coursework based so there are no external exams. The course is designed for students who are keen to learn the digital media production techniques that are used to make professional films and television programmes. The course is accepted by UCAS so will help you gain entry to university, if that is the destination you are planning. You will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking such as screenwriting, editing, composition, camera operation, special effects and much, much more. Whilst we have some DSLR cameras you can hire out it is recommended that you have your own camera. We edit on the professional non-linear editing program Davinci Resolve and it is recommended that you also download this software (a free version is available). Some of the projects you’ll be working on include music video, documentaries, short films, and social media assets. This is a fun and active course that will see you develop outstanding technical skills as well as becoming an expert in problem solving. Interesting fact about studying this subject at S6C Previous trips have included New York City and Los Angeles and more trips are planned in the future.
