Course summary

Are you keen to learn more about sport science and psychology and how it is used to improve performance? Have you ever wondered why some sports people are paid so well and where the money comes from? The Eduqas A Level in Physical Education is an exciting, engaging course which is highly regarded by universities and employers. The course is varied and insightful, focusing on the body, how it performs and the role of sport within society. There is an expectation that students will take part in sporting opportunities that are available to them to enhance their performance for assessment, for example by joining an S6C sports team or training/competing or coaching regularly at a club. The qualification sits well with a range of other A Levels including the sciences, maths and humanities. While studying A Level PE at S6C you may also have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as First Aid certificates and coaching badges. Students will be expected to purchase an S6C sports top to wear for coaching and in practical lessons. Entry requirements

Minimum 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above. Maths and English Grade 5 including Grade 5 in double science. Studying GCSE PE is beneficial but not essential.
