Course summary

A-Level Economics involves the application of economic theories to real-world situations, policy analysis, and evaluation. Essentially it involves the study of scarcity. It is concerned with how we try to get the most out of the limited resources that planet earth has, in order to best satisfy its population. The subject tries to answer three basic questions: What should we produce? How should we produce it? For whom should we produce? From these basic questions, the subject is developed, dealing both in scarcity issues on a small scale (microeconomics) and those on a larger scale (macroeconomics). This A level offers numerous benefits, both in terms of academic growth and future career prospects. The subject will equip you with essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, data analysis, and the ability to evaluate complex information. Furthermore, a solid understanding of economic principles and policies is invaluable in today's interconnected and rapidly changing world, by providing you with insights into the workings of local and global economies, helping you make informed decisions and contribute to discussions on economic matters that affect our everyday lives.
