German (A Level)
Course summary
Students will study a range of themes relating to Germany and other German-speaking countries, in order to develop their understanding of these countries. They will examine how key events in the past have influenced modern day life, and how Germany and its people are meeting the challenges of the future, in addition to their contributions to literature and the arts. Students will study the language in greater depth, developing their grammatical knowledge and accuracy. In addition, each student will select a topic of personal interest, linked to the areas of study, conducting research, and subsequently presenting their findings as part of the final Speaking Exam. They are assessed across the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
