Course summary
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a standalone qualification designed to extend and develop your independent research and project management skills. The focus of the project is research, and so completing an EPQ will develop your ability to locate, evaluate and use a range of resources critically. For students who intend to go to university, these skills are incredibly important and can set you apart from other candidates. The EPQ lets you choose any topic area to investigate. Past students have chosen to complete projects that are geared towards their career goals (for example an aspiring medic focused their project on NHS spending) whilst others have chosen to pursue an interest that was not covered by any school subject (for example one focused their research on the development of Japanese architecture and another chose to look at the impact of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies).
