Course summary
A Level French is structured as a linear course taught over two years. All four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) will be assessed. During the course you will cover interesting and current topics which have social issues and trends, politics and French culture as their focus. You will build your knowledge of grammar throughout the course to support you in speaking and in writing more fluently and accurately. There is a strong emphasis on self-expression, arguing viewpoints and writing coherent essays. You will have the opportunity to carry out independent research on cultural issues, such as modern French film and contemporary literature. In addition you will develop key skills in translation, debating and structuring an analytical essay. WHY THIS COURSE?
