Course summary
Doing an A Level in a Modern Foreign Language is challenging but highly rewarding. The programme of study in Spanish is broad and diverse, with students given the opportunity to study the history and politics of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries, the art and culture of the Spanish-speaking world as well as important works of literature and film. Alongside this rich and extensive work, you will do an individual research topic to be presented in your oral exam in Y13. The individual research topic is a fantastic opportunity to explore any aspect of Spanish-speaking life or culture in which you are interested, and is great preparation for the independent work and study you’ll need to do should you go on to university. All of this goes hand-in-hand with a deeper dive into Spanish grammar, structure and vocabulary.
