Course summary

This course develops an understanding of how the mind both influences and explains our behaviour: psychology does this by focusing on a number of different topics such as: mental illness & abnormal behaviour; memory; the formation of attachments; stress; lateralization of brain functions; biological rhythms; aggression; obedience and the research methods that psychologists use.

Entry requirements

Minimum of a grade 5 in English and Mathematics.

How you'll be assessed

Psychology is a Linear A level. Students will take three two hour exams at the end of the two years. There will be ongoing internal assessments across the two years to gauge and measure progress including mock examinations.
