Economics is a traditional analytical subject, involving mathematics, communication and literacy skills. Economics graduates hold key positions in the business world, banking and finance, politics and administration, journalism and media. There is hardly any area of human life that does not benefit from a knowledge and understanding of Economics. There has never been more interest in Economics than now when we are dealing with Brexit! Everyone is affected by economics, yet few people really know what it is or understand it. This course gives you the opportunity to find out about the issues which shape all our lives today. Over the course of the A Level, you will study four units. Introductions to markets and market failure The UK economy – performance and policies Business behaviour and the labour market A global perspective. What it can lead to Studying Economics can lead to a wide variety of University courses including Economics, Business, Geography, Law, Accounting, History, Social Sciences such as Politics, and many more. An A Level in Economics shows you have excellent research and analysis skills, and knowledge of current events.
