Course summary

In Year 1 you will study the following units: Human Lifespan Development. This examined unit will develop your knowledge and understanding of physical, intellectual, emotional and social development across the human lifespan. You will also consider the factors that affect development and the effects of aging. Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs. You will focus on the principles and practicalities that underpin meeting individuals’ care and support needs, which are the foundation of all the care disciplines. In Year 2 you will study the following units: Working in Health and Social Care. This examined unit will develop your knowledge and understanding of roles and responsibilities of workers in health and social care settings. You will also learn about the various organisations that operate within health and social care settings. Psychological Perspectives. You will explore key theoretical perspectives that have been put forward on psychological and physical development and how they are applied in different health and social care settings. What it can lead to This course can lead to lots of career choices in the Health Care system such as a social worker, nursing, youth worker, midwifery, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and lots of other key worker roles.
