Students will study a mixture of Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics. The pure mathematics involves a great deal of algebra and trigonometry, building on these to introduce new topics such as logarithms, calculus, numerical methods and mathematical modelling. The Statistics involves data analysis, including dealing with large data sets, probability, probability distributions and hypothesis testing. Mechanics is centred around investigating static and moving objects using Newton’s Laws, including topics on projectiles, friction and moments.
