Course summary

The science of chemistry has a wide impact in the modern world and chemical research continues to be at the forefront of many new technologies. Chemists are engaged in designing and discovering new medicines to fight disease, developing new technologies to help protect the environment and inventing new products and materials for the food and drink, agricultural and energy industries. In addition, chemists play pivotal roles in other specialities; for example, acting as forensic scientists by using innovative techniques to analyse crime scene evidence.
