Core Mathematics is for everyone. It is diverse, engaging and essential in equipping students with the right skills to reach their future destinations, whatever that may be. This course will particularly suit students who are also studying Psychology, Sciences, Economics and / or Geography but will help all students develop the real life mathematical skills needed in the workplace. YEAR 12 and YEAR 13 You will follow either teaching route to explore: • Statistical Techniques • Critical Path and Risk Analysis • Graphical Techniques Post 18 opportunities Mathematical Studies aims to prepare students for the demands of higher education and work where there is a distinct mathematical or statistical elements. This is an ever growing field with many careers now requiring high level budgeting skills and the ability to quickly and effectively analyse large amounts of data. The Level 3 Certificate qualification will be graded on a five-point scale: A, B, C, D and E with the following UCAS points 60, 50, 40, 30 and 20 respectively. Expenses Students will be required to purchase textbooks and course materials.
4+ in Mathematics
Two written examinations at the end of the study period leading to a Level 3 Qualification equivalent to an AS Level.
