This is an ideal course for you if you are looking to progress into employment or on to higher education, as it covers lots of areas to springboard you on to your next steps. The qualification includes units in fitness skills development, self-employment in sport and physical activity and health, well-being and sport. These are the mandatory units which are assessed internally by your tutors. In addition, you will gain an understanding of careers in the sport and active leisure industry and the anatomy of the human body. Practical sports take place on the college site or in nearby specialist facilities. Visits are included to enhance both theoretical and practical work. Sports nutrition, fitness testing, technological developments in sport and practical sports coaching are among the units delivered
