
Students will study UK politics and government which will give them a secure knowledge and understanding of politics. This knowledge is consolidated by studying three core political ideas: Liberalism, Conservatism and Socialism as well as non-core political ideas (feminism or anarchism). The government and politics of the USA are also studied and students are expected to compare the US and UK systems in the exam. You will gain an informed understanding of political systems, develop the ability to critically analyse, interpret and evaluate information to make judgements and finally, develop an interest in contemporary politics.
6 GCSE grades at 9-5 including English & Maths Grade 6 or above in Government & Politics (If not taken at GCSE - grade 6 in another GCSE subject and grade 5 in English)
