
The AQA A level in Psychology aims to develop in learners the ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of psychological concepts, theories, research studies, and research methods, in addition to ethical issues in psychology in relation to social influence, attachments, memory and psychopathology. Other skills include the ability to analyse, interpret and evaluate psychological concepts, theories, research studies and research methods. You will also learn how to evaluate therapies and treatments in terms of their appropriateness and effectiveness for mental disorders. In the second year of the course, students will learn to describe research into relationships, bio-psychology, stress and forensic psychology.
Minimum 33 TPS plus English Language and Mathematics grade 5. Grade 5 or better in GCSE Science.
