A-Level Computer Science

Course summary

Computer Science provides you with an understanding of the mathematical, scientific and engineering principles that underpin the computer systems that we use today. From the very first lesson students become programmers and problem solvers. We introduce programming concepts through a variety of paradigms including procedural, object-oriented and functional. You will study algorithms, binary representation of data, networks and Boolean logic as well as many other topics. Computer Science is a wide-ranging discipline and you will develop transferable skills that support access to a range of computing related degrees or Apprenticeships, as well as supporting your other subjects.
