This course is one of the most exciting and varied Huish has to offer. In Year 1 you’ll get to grips with the basics of music technology and start producing your own music (or covers of your favourite songs!). You’ll learn how to build beats, use samples, program your own synths, and create awesome projects from the ground up. In Year 2, through collaborating with friends, you will record a 20 minute EP with total freedom of genre and makeup. You can also compose the score to a short film as well as technically engineer for live gigs.
As a minimum, you will need (or equivalent to); GCSE Mathematics grade 4 GCSE English Language or Literature grade 4 plus three more GCSEs at grade 4 You will also need to have musical ability (ability to play an instrument/sing) and some experience using music software
There are regular formal assessments in the form of recordings, compositions, sequences, presentations, and creative written work.
