Biology A level is a challenging but fascinating qualification that allows you to access some of the most prestigious universities and demanding higher educational courses. At Burntwood Sixth Form, Biology A level is delivered by a highly qualified and experienced team of teachers, some who are or have been exam board markers. Teaching takes place in small groups to ensure all students can carry out the required practical tasks individually. The Biology Department has a proven track record of getting students into Oxford, Cambridge and many other Russell group universities to study the biological sciences. We also play a leading role in successfully guiding students through the application process for Medicine and we have many alumni who are practising doctors or in medical schools in this country and overseas. The Biology department regularly organises trips to lectures, museums, zoos and nature reserves. Students are also required to attend a residential field studies trip. The Science Cluster is very well resourced and students are provided with access to two of the OCR approved textbooks along with many other resources.
At least 5 level 9-4 grades at GCSE with a level 6 in Mathematics and a level 6 in Biology or 6-6 in Combined Science.
