Course summary

This course is designed to be fully vocational and to give the learner experience of performing live in different venues and in different styles. The course is designed to be flexible and allows students to specialize in both acting as well as production arts. However, if the learner is particularly interested in production arts they can just specialize in those areas rather than the acting. The course is composed of six units: ( Please note these are the Acting units. Production Arts units run alongside these in : Set Design , Lighting, Sound, Costume and Stage Management ) 1. 310 Approaches to acting - Year 12 Exploration of the following practitioners: Stanislavski, Brecht, Artaud, Berkoff, Frantic assembly Scripted performance Evaluation Learning outcomes 2. 393 Devising - Year 12 Exploration of the following practitioners: Paper Birds, Frantic Assembly, Complicite Devised performance Evaluation 3. 317 Physical theatre - Year 12 Exploration of the following practitioners: Grotowski , Lecoq Devised physical theatre performance Evaluation 4. 318 Theatre for education - Year 13 Exploration of appropriate stimulus for Children’s theatre Performance of original Theatre in education piece for Primary schools students. Evaluation 5. 301 Live performance - Year 13 Performance of selected piece. Evaluation 6. 3110 Creating a theatre company Year 13 Performance of chosen scripted piece Evaluation
