You will be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. You will be made aware of both traditional and new technologies. You will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples. This should be integral to the investigating and making processes. Your responses to these examples will be shown through practical and critical activities that demonstrate your understanding of different styles, genres and traditions.
English and Maths grade 4 and at least one of; Art and Design GCSE grade 4 3D Design BTEC Merit Students who have not taken a creative subject at KS4 can still be considered by attending an interview and presenting a portfolio of photographic work.
Coursework is worth 60% of your overall grade and an externally set assignment is worth 40%. Your work will be formally assessed every 4 - 6 weeks using the AQA marking grid. You will have regular verbal and written feedback in the form of tutorials in lessons and opportunities to self and peer-assess your work.
