The RSL Level 3 diploma course is equivalent of 1.5 A levels and consists of 7 different units of study. The course is designed to develop your skills as a dance performer, choreographer and teaching practitioner. The controlled assessments involve the planning, execution and evaluation of different practical tasks. Core units: Performance Preparation Planning for a Career in the Creative and Performing Arts Additional units: Dance Technique & Performance Repertory Dance Performance Choreography Leading Dance Applying Safe Dance Practice
5 GCSEs at level 4 or above, including Maths and English. Level 4 or above in GCSE Dance (or equivalent dance experience outside of school).
This course is coursework based. For each unit, you will need to produce evidence (through completion of both practical and written tasks) to demonstrate the assessment criteria. There is no written exam, however, you will have a series of practical exams and written work deadlines throughout the two-year course. There are 2 core units set by the exam board. One of these is externally assessed. The other units are assessed internally and then moderated by the exam board.
