Course summary

Throughout the course students will develop skills in critical and reflective thinking and engage in the critical debates surrounding contemporary media. The OCR media studies A level provides an integrated introduction to the study of the media and the contemporary media landscape. Students will evaluate, analyse and create a range of media products in key media areas including advertising, music video, videogames, newspaper and online media, magazine, long form television, and film. The content of the two-year course is underpinned by a set of key media concepts: Media language Media representation Media industries Media audiences
