The course covers programming a system using a high level programming language rather than the use of packages as in ICT. The course includes learning about computer systems from hardware, software and networks to the legal, ethical, moral and cultural implications. Valuable skills developed include problem solving, solution design, development, testing and evaluating. The topics that are covered are: Computational thinking; Problem solving and programming; Data structure and algorithms; Components of a computer and their uses; Software and software development; Exchanging data including network and web technologies; Project and time management skills.
